If you’re in lockdown, what can you and your business do during mental health awareness week

Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, Mental Health Awareness Week will take place from 18th - 24th May 2020. The theme this year was changed from “Sleep” to “Kindness”, a decision announced on 9th April, reflecting the massive shift in our society caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

And this shift has taken place in all of us - there is no discrimination when it comes to the impact of the lockdown.

Our emotions are heightened, causing greater anxiety – you may recognise this in yourself, your colleagues, friends, family.  They may seem less equipped to deal with this than one might expect – well, just like physical health, mental health affects us all and in different ways.

Yet whilst diagnosed mental health conditions are wide and varied, there are tools and techniques to help build resilience and mental fitness.

So, if you’re in lockdown, what can you or your business do during mental health awareness week?

Maybe now is the time to introduce some of the practical tools to help us stay mentally fit and build or top up our resilience before heading back to work, whenever that may be.

If you’re keen to empower your people to thrive and be kind, the half-day Mental Health Aware online training is a great place to start.  To book your place on Friday 22 May 2020 please book using the link below or ‘contact us’.
